I never hear from Pat & Jo anymore.....where are they? It's Maude's birthday tomorrow and I'm thinking of her.....
God it's SO hot today. I need a new window at the front of my house....one that opens. I should have dealt with it months ago but now I need it...I don't have it and it's stifling.....it's a bit like me not dealing with my log burner not working properly...but who cares in summer?

and i thought it was just us they were avoiding.... of course when i say 'us' I mean me....

avoid is such an emotive word .... we have been super busy recently . it has been both bert and maudes birthdays - she really appreciated the " thought " pat!- I have been marking degree work ( half million words read so far ... written mostly by dyslexic art students who have never left town - or read a book - or seen a painting - or been to a gig , so generally engaging and original --- a bit like pat after half a dozen pints of guiness and an E ) and putting on fashion shows. Jo is also teaching and has become quite the celebrity about town. Term is nearly over and we are all looking forward to the summer holidays when, I promise , I will begin the holley blog again . When are the Austins a comin ?

We will be in london end of July / beginning of august and hopefully attending leeds festival .
